Getting care

The importance of preventive care

Regular preventive care will help to keep as healthy as possible. It’s a good idea to alert your doctor to any changes in your health. The more proactive that you are, the less reactive you may need to be.

Here is a short list of preventive care services that you can receive from your PCP without any out-of-pocket costs for you:

  • Yearly physical
  • Flu shot
  • Vaccinations for children
  • Adult immunizations, not including travel immunizations
  • Health screening tests
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Non-diagnostic mammograms and periodic OB/GYN exams

Getting emergency care

Since your “go-to” doctor knows all about your health, he/she should certainly be your first call when you're not well. But what about those times when your doctor's not available and you need immediate care? Not to worry.

If you have an illness, injury, symptom or condition so serious that a reasonable person would seek care right away to avoid severe harm - this is an emergency. In the event of an emergency, you don't have to be concerned about your coverage. As a member, you will have 24/7 coverage at any emergency room around the world.

Getting after-hours medical care

Not every situation is an emergency. But you might still need help after hours. So when you have something like a severe headache, flu or sprained ankle, and your doctor's office is closed, you can seek help at an Urgent Care Center. And don't fret. Like emergency care, urgent care is covered wherever you are - worldwide.
